Sinful Liaisons Oxfordshire, 1897

A breeze whistled across his nether regions. Pierce grimaced. It could have been worse, he supposed. At least the day was mild with no sign of rain. He peered into the distance. Only the deeply grooved road cutting its path through the gentle hills hinted at civilisation. He grimaced again. Where the bloody hell was he?

He curled a fist and began trudging along the grass at the side of the road. Stones pricked his bare feet.

“Bloody Goddamn it.”

Pierce was going to kill Giles if he lived through this. He hadn’t intended to visit their favourite gambling den, but Giles just had to talk him into it. Nor had he meant to get utterly foxed. He hardly remembered wagering everything including his clothes. As for how he’d ended up naked on the roadside...

“Bloody Goddamn it all to hell.”

One final wager...He had vague recollections. Something to do with a race? Damnation, if only his head wasn’t so fuzzy. But even then, why had Giles left him to sleep it off in a field—naked?

The rumble of a carriage made him stiffen. He wouldn’t get far with his bare feet. A form of transport would be useful indeed. But who would give a naked man a ride? Pierce shrugged to himself and turned, cupping one hand over himself to preserve what little modesty he had left and using the other to gain the driver’s attention.

The black, glossy carriage rumbled closer, led by two horses. He saw the driver glance his way then look again before turning his head away. Dirt spattered his legs making him jump back as it rolled past.

“Rot in hell then,” he muttered half-heartedly and resisted the urge to scuff his bare foot across the ground.

A command from the driver reached his ears and he held his breath as the horses came to a halt. The vehicle stopped. Both hands over the family jewels, Pierce waited. The door swung open.

“Thank you,” he uttered, lifting his gaze to the heavens, and hurried toward the carriage. He cursed under his breath when several more rocks jabbed the soles of his feet.

Trying to look as noble as one could when naked, he paused in front of the open door. There, in the dark confines of the vehicle and set against plush royal blue seats, an elegant redhead skimmed her gaze up and down his body. Even in the gloom of the carriage, he saw an eyebrow rise. Then he noted the curve of her lips.

Pierce stared back. He allowed his own gaze to travel over her, observing the generous rise of her breasts against a low cut bodice and the slender waist that led to hips that were emphasised by a bustle. Hair coiled high, it gave him a fine view of the gems on her neck and ears. From the delicate porcelain skin to the emeralds casting a faint green hew across it, everything about this woman told him of her importance.

And her attractiveness. He had to force his gaze from her breasts or else both hands wouldn’t conceal anything.

“Get in.”

Book on tour - American Cowboy in Scotland

TITLE – An American Cowboy in Scotland AUTHOR – Em Taylor GENRE – Romantic Comedy/ Contemporary Romance PUBLICATION DATE – 25 June 2015 LENGTH – 34000 words PUBLISHER – Em Taylor COVER ARTIST – Em Taylor

As Rhona Lorimer waits for her new boss to arrive, she reckons things can’t get much worse. The manager of the Scottish estate has to explain to her new American boss that the estate is in ruins and there’s no money left. When the drop dead gorgeous cowboy turns up in full Highland regalia, looking like he fell off a shortbread tin, Rhona knows she has her work cut out.

The locals don’t take to Lord Cole Macallan, so Rhona feels obliged to show him hospitality. But the guy is hot. Can Rhona fight her feelings for her new boss as their worlds collide and they discover just how much Scotland and America are two countries divided by a common language… but brought together by mutual passions?

Cole Macallan Cole Macallan is an all-American guy. He’s a cowboy through and through. He grew up on a huge ranch in Texas and is the eldest son of an oil magnate. He has a younger brother and a younger sister. He loves horses, NASCAR and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

At the age of sixteen though, Cole was being prepared to take over the family business and was sitting in on business meetings with his father.

Cole attended Duke University and studied Business. He didn’t have much choice as he was going to inherit the largest share of his family’s business which had a turnover of around $20 million a year. When he was in his second year of college, his father died of a heart attack and Cole became CEO of the company. He finished college as his uncles took care of the company until he graduated. Now he’s one of the GQ’s Top 50 bachelors in America.

Rhona Lorimer Rhona Lorimer is smart, sassy and cute but she’s never lived up to her potential. Unfortunately life keeps happening to her and it seems to keep knocking her on her ass. She’s an only child and really was a daddy’s girl. Her mum was never the nurturing type and hated living in the tiny village of Strathdougal, an hour south of Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow.

Rhona didn’t stick in well at school and messed up her exams in her final year, not gaining enough qualifications to go to university. So she became her dad’s apprentice. He was estate manager to Lord Macallan, who owned the Castle, manor house and estate round Strathdougal. It was then she noticed her dad becoming forgetful. That was when her mum upped and left.

To cut a long story short, Rhona’s dad is now in a home, Rhona has his job and Lord Macallan died, leaving the estate to some American guy whom she has never met. To top it all, there’s no cash, the manor house is in a state of disrepair and the castle is a ruin. Once again, she seems to be sitting on her butt in a muddy puddle.

We walked out of the castle, Cole carefully ducking his head, and moved around to the side. The sun was weak but there was the promise of warmth and as we crunched over the gravel, I lowered my head and smiled. I had expected him to be a little forlorn that his castle would not become like something out of Braveheart or the Tudors but Cole was excited. “Do you think we would need one of those balconies?” “Maybe.” We turned onto the grass, which was a little damp, being in the shadow of the ancient building. He automatically reached for my arm though I was sure-footed and steady. He moved his fingers down to my hand and clasped it. Ever so slowly I allowed my fingers to curl as I held my breath, waiting to see if he would realise his mistake. But he didn’t. He stared ahead and continued to walk down to the back of the castle where he brought me back out into the beautiful sunshine. Wind whipped my hair into my face and with my free hand I swiped it behind my head. “It’s just as purdy down here as it was from the top floor of the castle,” he said—his slow drawl dancing over the word ‘purdy’ and playing havoc with my girly bits. “Almost as purdy as you.” It was then I realised we were standing almost with our backs to the castle wall. He moved in front of me and cupped my chin with his free hand, still holding onto my hand with the other. Had I even breathed since he had clasped my hand? I must have. I would surely have expired by now if I hadn’t. I gazed up into his eyes, the colour of melted chocolate, and bit my lip. As his head lowered to mine, I let the lip go and breathed out, my free hand moving to rest on his impressive biceps. And then his lips were on mine, soft and gentle, coaxing and urging mine to move in tandem with his. I was relieved he wasn’t one of those guys that come at you with their tongue hanging out as if you were an ice-cream cone. Instead he was what I like to call a lip-kisser. He used his lips first before he introduced his tongue—flicking it lazily out to meet mine, to tease, to tempt, to illicit groans, to tickle the roof of my mouth and send pulses of need south. I moaned softly and wrapped my arms tightly around his neck.

Em lives in the small village of Dundonald (which features in An American Cowboy in Scotland) in Ayrshire, Scotland. She regularly visits Dundonald Castle for coffee, cakes, inspiration and chat. When she’s not writing historical, contemporary and vampire romances, she’s trotting around the country to film and TV conventions, hob-nobbing with celebrities and avoiding housework.

Em is still waiting for her own Colonel Brandon to come along but since she’s sick of kissing frogs, she’s quite content to hog the TV remote and have the whole sofa to herself.

My review

Hot cowboy in Scotland?

Rhona is a young woman who has been handed down the reigns, from her father, after he is alienated with dementia, to care for a castle that is in ruins. When she is informed that the now owner who has inherited the castle, an American cowboy, is coming to Scotland to exam his property, she is not at all thrilled. Little does she know this cowboy is about to change her life, in a sexy, steamy kind of way.

I have to first comment on the characters, I found them to be very realistic and humorous and the dialogue was out of this world. I started reading this book and did not put it down until I read the last page. Rhona had me laughing through the whole book, she was a very amazing character. It was fast paced, easy read and I loved every line.

Enemy of Man - Review

TITLE – Enemy of Man SERIES – The Chronicles of Kin Roland AUTHOR – Scott Moon GENRE – Science Fiction (military, adventure) PUBLICATION DATE – June 2013 LENGTH (Pages/# Words) - 223 pages, 85,000 words PUBLISHER – Scott Moon COVER ARTISTPro Book Covers

Earth Fleet never forgave Kin Roland’s failure at Hellsbreach. Changed by captivity and torture, hunted by the Reapers of Hellsbreach and wanted by the Fleet, Kin hides on a lost planet near an unstable wormhole.

When a distant space battle propels a ravaged Earth Fleet Armada through the same wormhole, a Reaper follows, hunting for the man who burned his home world. Kin fights to save a mysterious native of Crashdown from the Reaper and learns there are worse things in the galaxy than those hunting him. The end is coming and he is about to pay for a sin that will change the galaxy forever.

Scott Moon loves audio books, especially the works of George R.R. Martin, Stephen King, Patrick O'Brian, John Ringo, David Weber, and Michael Connelly. He has been writing fantasy, science fiction, and urban fantasy thrillers for over thirty years. His professional background is law enforcement, including various tactical and investigative units. In 2005, he was part of a task force that arrested a serial killer who had been at large for over three decades.

My review

Kin Roland has excommunicated himself from the fleet, becoming a traitor. As he chases down aliens, with the fleet close behind, the mysteries of Crater town and the wormhole and they reason why they were all there, slowly begins to reveals itself. He fights to protect the world and the people he loves and also finds along the way Becca, a woman who he loved and thought he had lost forever.

This book was definitely action packed and the characters, especially Kin were crafted nicely. But the story was drawn out in a way that made it at times difficult to follow. It did not flow easily and I found myself lost, having to go back and forth through the book, to figure out what was going on.

When we got home, I decided to put all our bickering aside and make love to my husband. While Chris pleased me sexually, our busy work schedules had reduced our lovemaking to mundane quickies. I knew if I was bored, he must be too.
To spice things up, I’d read magazines, watched porn, and gathered tips from my friends. He loves lacy lingerie, so I wore my black bustier, black French-cut panties, and fishnet stockings. I lit scented candles and put on soft jazz to set the ambiance in the bedroom. Chris walked in.
“Damn!” he said.
He tugged on my lingerie to take it off. I couldn’t hide my smile. His hands hungrily roamed my body.
“Easy, baby. Enjoy what you’re looking at.”
I felt self-conscious as he groped me because his earlier comment about me looking chunky, kept replaying in my mind.
We made love. I used a lot of the new ideas I learned to spice things up, but he didn’t seem to notice. Chris always has the decency to make sure I cum, but again we ended up having another quickie because he had to wake up early the next morning. He rolled over on his side and went to sleep almost immediately after. I frowned, shook my head and stared at the ceiling. Was it me? Is this how marriage was supposed to be? Had we both gotten too comfortable?
I decided I’d start going to the gym and get a personal trainer. I hoped working with a trainer would change me enough that even Chris would have to say something positive about it. I didn’t imagine how much it would change me.

Crazy on you - Sneak peek

The worlds of the New York Mafia and the top London crime syndicate are about to collide! The much feared Pope Crew, a bunch of psychopathic criminals, try to pull off a multi-million weapon trafficking deal with the murderous Mafia Don, Giovanni Commarata.   Then Archie Pope, a kitten and flower loving softie blows it by falling for Giovanni's daughter, Isabella - a "crime" punishable by death.

War is declared between the two factions. The Popes team up with the Zaffutos - a family under Giovanni's control, and  vicious and explosive urban warfare breaks out.

All Archie wants to do is woo his beloved Isabella. Everyone else wants him to kill her father. Not ideal conditions for an otherwise beautiful courtship! This is a rom-com with a difference. It's probably the most terse, thrilling, edge-of-your-seat rom-com ever written.

Touching but deadly.

Sneak peek:

She moved in for the kiss and our lips met with an urgent force as we necked wildly. A long time passed before we were finished. Isabella opened her eyes and smiled at me. Then her eyes flashed over to somewhere behind me and a look of horror filled her face.

'Oh my God! Archie! It's Papa!'

The main reason why I am still alive is that I have hypersonic reflexes. I dived to the ground, pulling Isabella with me. Bullets whizzed overhead. The bodies of nightclub ravers standing at the bar fell. Several bullets' destination was the optics and it shattered from the almighty impact, hurtling cascades of glass and liquor across and over the bar, glass shards penetrating the backs of bartenders and the faces and bodies of customers. I spun myself around, hauling out my gun as I spun on my stomach. I held it aloft, pushing the safety level down to fire position, my finger straining against the trigger; I would shoot the micro-second I observed my target. The spin completed, my brain registered 6 armed, black ski-masked figures. Giovanni was eminently identifiable, from his stocky body shape and his cold eyes that wouldn't have looked out of place in a cobra's head. I discharged my semi-auto frantically...

Book on tour - The Manipulator

This is the first synopsis of a book that held true to the novel. Steve Lundin was correct when he stated this was a book where you will love and hate the characters. That was exactly how I felt, although I despised nearly every single character, I definitely loved to hate Jack Vance.

The proud owner of Blowfish, he was arrogant, obnoxious, cheap and completely intolerable, but at times he was humorous the way he acts and states things, the part in the bar where he places money down on the counter, acting like a big shot, when it was only fifteen American dollars, barely paying for the drink. It made me laugh out loud. Mostly, the comment he made degrading the bartender for his naturally balding head, was outrageously funny. His life was all about making money and being the best. To be quite honest, he was the best, his pitches were enticing and original, I have to pat him on the back when it comes to that. As a person Jack Vance is utterly arrogant and not someone I could surround myself with, but I still loved to hate him.

Book on tour - Chinese Walls

A married man with children, Nicholas Powell accepts a position with United National in Hong Kong. It is there he meets a young Chinese man, Daniel, a bank manager. They make plans to meet later that night and their friendship soon blossoms into a relationship. Daniel desperately wants their relationship to be out in the open, but Nicholas is hesitant, not wanting to reveal his hidden secret as a gay man.

The story shows true corruption in the banking industry and how one minute you’re at the top and the next you’re scraping at the bottom. As the story unfolds, Nicholas’s life begins to unravel as Daniel leaves him after finding out about an affair and he is asked to resign from his employer. It’s this tragedy that finally opens Nicholas’s eyes to truly what is the most important to him, Daniel.

So what did I like the best about this novel?

Chinese Walls exposes true prejudice in the corporate banking world against same sex couples and shows corruption that happens all too often in the banking world and how one can get caught up into power and money. My favorite part of the novel, was when everything came down around Nicholas and he realized the true importance of anyone’s life is love, without it, you have nothing.

About the Author:

David Clive Price has had a passion for Asia's peoples and cultures ever since he went to Japan in the 1980s and wrote a book about his travels throughout the country. This passion developed further in Hong Kong, where he struggled to make ends meet as a writer in the 1990s, wrote economic reports about Asian countries, and travelled all over the region researching features for international magazines. Finding himself on his pin ends with his Chinese spouse in a walk-up one-room apartment above a nightclub in Hong Kong, he resolved to join the corporate world and became Chief Speechwriter for Asia for one of the world's leading banks. It was 1995. Hong Kong was preparing to return to China. David spent the next few years writing speeches to be given all over Asia and the world. He also began publishing a series of books on South Korea, Hong Kong, China, India, and Buddhism in the daily life of Asia.

Freeing himself from corporate life, he set up his own consultancy advising Asian multinationals and Western companies with Asian operations on their strategic and intercultural communications. This experience, and the challenges he faced launching his own business, form the basis of his new book The Master Key to Asia: A 6-Step Guide to Unlocking New Markets and his innovative Master Key Series on the business cultures, etiquettes and customs of Asia's high-growth markets.
He has written books on the ‘lost civilization’ of rural Italy, music and Catholic conspiracies in Elizabeth I’s England, Buddhism in the daily life of Asia, the secret world of China’s Forbidden City, the intricacies of corporate life in London and Hong Kong, off-the-beaten track Seoul and South Korea, and the underworld of 1980s New York.

Book on Tour - The Wedding Part Two Review

Wedding II is the final book of the series ‘In love with my best friend.’

This book highlights the events that lead up to the wedding of Tia and Charles. A couple that had been in and out of love for years.

Charles was raised by his mother Delores, after his father left when he was just seven years old, to marry his secretary. Charles carried a grudge for all those years, yet he attempted to establish a relationship with his three siblings from his father’s marriage, Shannon, Donald and Gerald. Dwayne tries to reconnect with Charles after 25 years. At first, Charles pushes him away, but then decides to give him a chance. It’s when he finds out the reason Dwayne had left was because his mother, Delores had an affair with this guy Eddie and wasn’t even positive that Charles was Dwayne’s son.

Tia is my favorite character, classy and spirited. But she has a hellion for a sister, Shelby, who does whatever it takes to bring drama into everyone’s life, especially, Tia.

What makes this story complete, is that no matter what hills Charles and Tia have to climb, what rivers they have to cross, they do it together, surviving and relying on their love.

The author did an amazing job of showing the dysfunctions life may bring us and the understanding, that love can conquer all.

Mine: Compelling & Alarming New Novel Proves Harsh Realities of Domestic Violence. Does Seeking Help Always Cure the Evil?

Written by J. Kahele, this searing yet highly-insightful novel attempts to both illuminate the real world of domestic violence and quash the belief that seeking help is the panacea to cure all ills. While a work of fiction, ‘Mine’ is poised to serve as a wake-up call to thousands of domestic violence victims.

For Immediate Release

New Baltimore, MI – While it sounds implausible, twenty two percent of women in the United States have been the victims of domestic violence from their male spouses. Be it physical or mental, there’s no denying this rampant epidemic that requires serious action. While help comes in many forms, a new book by author J. Kahele has been designed and released to quash an often fatal belief among victims – that everything will get better after seeking help.

‘Mine’ proves that sometimes it is impossible to get away and break the cycle of violence. While harsh in its premise, Kahele’s narrative is a vital wake-up call that the world needs to hear. The narrative focuses on the life of Jenna, a young woman held captive in an abusive relationship by power-hungry Senator Benjamin Kramer. When Jenna meets someone else who wants to free her from her pain, the story takes a turn that nobody could have expected.

A simple trip to the attorneys turns into a life changing moment for 22 year old Jenna Kramer, when she encounters Andrew Carington for the first time. Their desire for each other is so deep that an affair ensues quickly. But Jenna's abusive and controlling husband Senator Benjamin Kramer will never give her up and soon Jenna finds herself plummeting into dangerous grounds.

“Thousands of women lose their lives to domestic violence each year. Sadly, many of these deaths come after the victim has sought the help she thought was the ‘cure’. This isn’t always the case; it’s often impossible to get out of deadly relationships,” says Kahele.

Continuing, “So, this book was designed to not only be a gripping read, but to give at least some power back to victims. I want all women to realize that simply seeking help isn’t enough. There’s much more involved in the puzzle to end domestic violence. Every situation is different but, when women see that they need to do more, they’ll eventually figure out what could work for them.”

To date the novel has garnered extremely positive reviews. For example, one reader comments, “This is in no doubt one of the best books I have blessed my eyes on this year, not the average unsuccessful attempts I have come to know. A romantic yet emotional story we all can relate to. The author has certainly exhibited true imaginative writing abilities by creating one of the most natural and easy to read stories I have seen. A truly captivating read.”

Beverly Clark adds, “This story shows us people at their best and worst . I was sucked into the story immediately and thought the author did a really good job portraying the emotional abuse many women endure and why they stay in that type of relationship.”

Meet Houston Gunn

Houston Gunn is a 16-year-old-entrepreneur, author, real estate investor and musician who is on a mission to inspire other young people to take steps now to build successful futures.

His first book, “Schooled for Success – How I Plan to Graduate from High School a Millionaire,” shares his story.

Born in Bonney Lake, WA, Houston Gunn used money he earned from appearing in a TV commercial to make his first real estate deal at the age of 13. By 14 he had started writing his first book. The CEO he interviewed for a job shadow assignment during his freshman year of high school challenged him to write what became “Schooled for Success.”

Houston not only accepted the challenge but also finished the book in 14 months. Gunn even caught the attention of famed business mogul Donald Trump, who granted an interview via email that is shared in the book.

Teachers also motivated Houston, though not in ways they likely expected. He set the goal of earning $1 million by high school graduation on his first day as a freshman. At the freshman assembly, the leadership teacher’s announcement they could earn $1 million in their lifetimes they got good grades, went to college and got good jobs.

His classmates’ cheers and whooping confused Houston, who had done the math: $1 million over a 40-year career is $25,000 a year. He thought:

“Why are the teachers and freshmen cheering and going wild? We the graduating class of 2015 should be booing and have got to learn more about money. We should be worth more than a million dollars over our lifetime!”

With entrepreneurial parents, grandparents and great-grandparents, Houston knows what he wants. He has figured out how to get it and encourages all young people as well as their parents not to shy away from asking for what they want. A “No” is better than nothing, Houston says. A “Yes” can change your life.

Houston Gunn is the new voice to his generation of entrepreneurs.

He is now living outside Nashville, TN, with his family. Houston loves playing everything from percussion to the guitar and bass, fiddle and mandolin as well as singing and songwriting. But he is still a teenager and loves pizza, motorcycles, and blue Corvettes.

Houston set a goal of buying a blue Corvette by May 20, 2014, before he turns 17. But first he needs his driver’s license.

He currently has two books available:

School for success: How I plan to graduate High School a millionaire. Purchase book.

Shooting for success: Your launch pad for skyrocketing to the top. Purchase book.
