Blink: The Series
by J Kahele
Genre: Fantasy/Sci-Fi with a touch of Paranormal
Tragedy strikes Tia Cartwright at the tender age of fourteen and she employs alcohol as a coping mechanism, to rid the haunting memories.
By eighteen she is a full-fledged alcoholic. Attempting to find sobriety, she makes the decision to move, with her cousin Nick, to a place where she had been happy as a child, her parents' vacation house in Maui.
Sobering up is a struggle for her. The detoxing more difficult than she realizes. She seeks comfort for her troubles in the ocean and all its surroundings. It's here she encounters the woman on the cliff. A woman with breathtaking beauty and eyes that draw her in. A woman who will change her life forever.

Illuminated by the silvery moon, her hair was short and dark, with just a hint of white. Her skin was tan, her cheeks high and profound, lips as red as rubies. Yet what intrigued me the most was her amber eyes. They were glowing in the darkness and they drew me in. A perfect light enveloped me, a radiance that warmed me inside. The golden color was so intense that it sent an aching shiver creeping up my spine. I felt the urge to look away, but couldn’t. It was like watching a car crash, something so horrifying and yet fascinating at the same time. My vision began to blur and my head throbbed.
I am a proud mother of three daughters who are my absolute complete existence. I write to relieve the scattered thoughts that stream through my mind, constantly. My biggest downfall is that I am a huge procrastinator, which makes my life at times hectic!

The idea of two complete strangers getting hitched has always intrigued me, for one simple reason—why would they do such a thing? Could such a relationship succeed? By successful relationship, I understand not only the longevity of the marriage…but is it possible for the participants to actually fall in love with each other in such a strange arrangement? Love is found in the most unexpected places.
A Convenient Marriage grew over a number of years. The basic story was simple—a divorcee with two children, an ex-husband being difficult over visitation, as well as a fiancée unable to commit. Holly’s friends suggested that she needed a new husband, placing an advert in the paper for one behind her back. Joshua was struck by a simple plan when he saw the ad and responded to it.
Why would Holly marry a man she’d never met, and why would Joshua respond to an ad for a husband, then actually propose to a woman he had never clapped eyes on? So, in came the dawdling fiancée, Nicole. Both Holly and Joshua were justified in not planning the marriage to be a real one, because they each had an agenda of their own, but Nicole was the injured party. For their plan to succeed, they had to marry—the real kind, down to that all-important piece of paper married—and they had to seem to be totally in love with each other. That it is all a scam, only they would know.
And here comes the ‘but’. Holly and Joshua’s plans go awry from the moment they meet on the steps of the chapel where their fake marriage is to take place, when both recognize the immediate attraction. Back at Joshua’s wine estate—yes, he is a rich landowner where Holly expected him to be a pauper—Holly meets Joshua’s mother, his brother and sister-in-law, and Nicole, the fiancée, who found out about Joshua’s duplicity in a room full of people. No one can blame Nicole for being a tad upset. Or can they? To add to Holly’s woes, she seems to have acquired a ‘ghost’ demanding she tell a story.
Amidst Nicole’s shenanigans, Joshua’s mother’s disapproval, Holly’s ex’s aggression, and the ghost following Holly around, will these two accomplish what they set out to do? Or will life get in the way?
Joshua’s and Holly’s journey through the uncharted seas of a blind marriage, where no rules apply, is a stormy one. Place your order here:
About the Author
Maggie Tideswell lives in Johannesburg—South Africa, with her husband, Gareth. She began writing when her kids were still very young, squeezing a few paragraphs at a time between the hectic schedule of raising three children, and working full time in the catering industry. She wrote many books before considering having them published. Now that the children have all made lives for themselves, there is more time for writing.
After much experimentation, Maggie writes passionate paranormal romance, of varying levels of heat. The paranormal, things that happen for which there are no logical explanations and ghosts are of particular interest to Maggie. What events in a person’s life would prevent that person from ‘resting’ after death? The ‘Old Religion’ is another special interest. And love, of course. Why do people fall in love? What keeps them together for a lifetime when so many relationships fail?
Maggie’s advice to aspirant novelists is two-fold. Never give up, and write every day. Writing is a craft that has to be honed with practice. And the only way to practice writing is by doing it. And a bonus, never stop reading your favorite genre. Reading it and writing it is the only training for a writer.
“Maggie Tideswell's latest novel, A Convenient Marriage, will have you turning pages as her characters cope with a marriage of convenience, well-meaning but nosy friends, a meddling ghost, jealous exes, and more. My advice: Make room on your Keepers shelf for this story!” (Loree Lough, best-selling author of 107 award-winning books, including Harlequin Heartwarming's "Those Marshall Boys" series.)
Blurb:
Once upon a time, there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligrapher-monk longing to be reunited with his soulmate and forbidden love, Deirdre, a witch. After being apart for centuries, will they finally live their deadly wicked fairytale and find their own happily ever after?
Deadly Ever After is the second book in the Black Angel Book series. The series is a continuous New Adult paranormal love story, so reading Twice Upon A Time (Book 1) is highly suggested before you start Book 2. Happy reading!

“Kiss me,” she hissed, moving her head slightly to indicate the others down the dock. Just for show.” Wariness was replaced by that light in his eyes. “Ja, Lucy. I kiss you for show.” “Make it good,” she whispered. “We are new wed.” She looked up at him and suddenly she was afraid. Not that he would ravish her. She was afraid of something worse. Or better. Galen dipped his head. His breath was warm on her face. His lashes brushed his cheeks. His beard and mustache, gone, had freed his lips to reveal a sensuality that was dangerous. They brushed her lips softly. His arm came round her waist, holding her to his hip. She felt the bulge of his biceps as he tightened his embrace until she could hardly get her breath. How had her lips opened? They did it without her will. He took ruthless advantage, his own tongue slipping in to caress hers. How dare he be so tender with her? He was a Viking, for goodness' sake. But there was nothing of goodness about it and she found herself loving the moist sensuality of his mouth, the faint taste of bacon still lin¬gering from this morning. Slowly he plunged deeper and then, somehow, their tongues entwined and she was kissing him back, even though she never meant to make it a true kiss on her side. Her hands slid around his ribbed torso, under Jake’s flapping flannel shirt. The contrast between Galen’s muscled hardness and her breasts and belly pressed against him made her feel vulnerable. That wasn’t bad, exactly. She’d begun to feel light-headed by the time he broke the kiss. All her blood was pooled between her legs, and she was throbbing. He didn’t let her go. His arm still held her pressed to his hip. His eyes weren’t icy now. Definitely not. “What means ‘for show’?”

My review
Susan Squires is without a doubt one of the best authors of time travel romances. Effortlessly taking the modern world and adding a sprinkle of the past.
In this book, the hero is Galen Valgarssen, honorable, valiant, bold advisor to the king and did I mention, a hot, sexy Viking?
The heroine, Lucy Rossano is still dealing with her feelings after the loss of her father. The only shining light in her life is when she wanders across an old book written by Leonardo Da Vinci about a time machine, which who she excitedly shares it’s existence with her friend Brad, who informs her the machine is real.
Wounded and near death Galen is sent back through time and his world crashes with Lucy’s. If he hadn’t followed her he would be dead, so history is changed, but the time machine did not do as it was suppose to and Lucy and Galen soon find themselves in grave danger. Not to mention hiding a Viking in modern day San Francisco is nearly impossible. But mostly she finds it difficult to fight her attraction to Galen and his obvious attraction to her. It's ludicrous to think she could ever have a relationship with a man who lived generations ago, isn't it?
My rating 5.0 out of 5.0

I love Ben's writing he reallys knows how to draw you into his character.
First I can describe Karen in just one word...BITCH!
Here is a woman who has a loving husband and beautiful children and all she can think about is herself. It's not like she put any effort into the relationship, or tried to make it better, no she made it worst! I felt bad for Chris and I could rant on and on about the book, but this is a book where you have to read to believe, it is definitely true to life, but sad at times.

“That’s right. Your plan was to use me to advance yourself.”
“That was my plan. I admit it. I was wrong. What can I do to make you forgive me?”
He sounded sincere. The fact that his eyes seemed to be watering as he stared at her longingly confirmed the sincerity she heard in his voice. But she wouldn’t fall for it. She wouldn’t let him in, only to be hurt by him again in the future.
“There is nothing I want from you. There is nothing I want you to do other than to take me home, right now.” Those blasted tears were threatening to fall again. “Please just take me home.” Her voice broke on the last word. Chad held his hands up, surrendering to her demand.
“If you really want to go home, I will take you home. Just please answer one question for me?’
She didn’t want to answer any questions, but if it would get her home sooner she would.“What is the question?”
“When I touch you, do you feel anything?”
Where had that question come from?
“Um…”
“I’m not finished. When we sip coffee together each morning, do you ever get the feeling that maybe we’re meant to be together? I know it sounds crazy, but even tonight, with everything that is going on, does a part of you feel the need to hold me and never let me go?”
Yes, yes, yes, that was exactly how she felt. How did he know? A sob escaped her lips. She put her hands over her face. She didn’t want to look at him. She didn’t want to hope that maybe he really felt those things he’d just said. Hope led to disappointment and she’d had enough disappointment in her life already. She couldn’t risk placing her hope in Chad. He’d already let her down once.
The sound of gravel crunching let her know he was taking a step closer to her. She took a step back, suddenly very aware of his presence. Sobbing into her hands, afraid to look up, she continued to walk backward and he continued to follow her.
Her back connected with something hard. She leaned back and felt the rough touch of tree bark against her exposed shoulders. Chad wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her forward. His hand settled at the small of her back. He used his other hand to massage her shoulders. The feel of his hands on her bare skin made her tremble. Why did she want him so much?
“I messed up, April. If you give me another chance, I promise to never do anything like this again. Forgive me, please.”

There he sat on a bench, outside the PECO Primate Reserve main entrance. When his dark brown eyes found me among the crowds, he smiled and stood up. My breathing got funny for a moment. Petro was a big man, even by hockey standards. While not as large as our former captain, our new forward stood three inches over six feet tall, and weighed roughly around two hundred and thirty pounds. He played center, and while he had good puck handling skills and some speed, he would never be Alain Lessard. His role was to supply grit, muscle, and the occasional goal. It seemed odd to me, a gal who had grown up with hockey, that he wasn`t a defensive player given his size and disposition. I had to wet my lips as I looked him over. No one wore jeans and a dress shirt like Petro Shevenko.
The plain blue shirt was loose, unbuttoned to the middle of his chest. Just enough to allow several curls of dark brown hair to peek from within, of course. The shirt sleeves were haphazardly rolled up showing off his thick forearms. His legs. God almighty, even cased in denim his legs made me moist. His thighs were thick, as most hockey players were, but they were perfectly proportioned to hold up his magnificent body. Long, muscular, strong, he walked toward me like a prowling tiger, one shoulder just slightly lower than the other, his scruffy hair blowing over his soulful brown eyes. Several women, including mothers with kids as well as zoo employees, paused just to watch this man strut his stuff. I ran my tongue over my lips again. My dress felt tight across my breasts. That familiar tingling sensation began between my thighs.
"Privet, blah, blah, blah." He said. Or, I think he said. I had learned that privet meant 'hello' in Russian. The rest? Not one damned clue. I signed hello to him, which is a salute of sorts. He took the hand that was coming down from my brow, lifted it to his lips, then placed his soft, pouty lips to my knuckles. And there we stood. Amid hundreds of people outside the primate center, his mouth resting on the back of my hand. I felt the faint tickle of his tongue touching my flesh. My body reacted with incredible wanton speed.

“My father doesn’t believe we’re in danger.”
“I told you he doesn’t believe me.” He sighed. “Your father is too wrapped up in his own self-importance to see what is right in front of his eyes. He won’t accept us because he thinks our beliefs will weaken his tribe.” He reached out and brushed a stray hair from her face. “I promise you, what I told you is true. Our enemies are coming, and when they do, there will be war.”
Aleta closed her eyes. She was fighting the mating heat; he could feel it. Her arousal filled the air and increased his need. She leaned into him, whether consciously or subconsciously, he didn’t know. He wrapped his arms around her waist. His own mating heat flared up within him, making it difficult to think. It would be like this until her heat cycle was over. Who knew how long that would be?
Her eyes popped open, and she leaned back from his embrace. “You don’t understand. I had plans.”
He crooked his finger under her chin and lifted it to meet his gaze.
“Change them.”
